Single I Lennie Gallant – On The Minnehaha

A song for South African Kirsten Neuschäfer’s amazing journey as the only female entrant in the exciting and dangerous Golden Globe around the world solo sailing race using only traditional navigation.

At time of writing, she is in first place, despite having deviated from her course to save a fellow competitor whose boat sank! An incredible story about an amazing sailor aboard her boat bearing the indigenous name Minnehaha, which means The Laughing Waters.

Kirsten unexpectedly spent a year on PEI, Canada, getting her boat ready during COVID with help and support from Islanders who can be heard singing on the chorus at the end of this song. Lennie and partner Patricia Richard became friends with Kirsten while she was there.
