To celebrate the release of the EP, Iconic Eye will perform a socially distanced seated and live stream concert at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton on Thursday December 3rd. Special guests will be Naked Sunday.

The new five-track EP was recorded at M2 Studios in Coven, West Midlands and features a cover of Jefferson Starship’s “Jane”, plus four original songs co-written mainly by guitarist Greg Dean and Janey.

BACK FROM BEHIND THE SUN
Says Greg, “We wrote this song because we’d been away for a while, and not released any new material. This is where it starts for us right now. We wanted an anthem, a positive to mark our return.

JANE
Says Janey, “The band have always played this live, so it made sense to record it finally. we love the energy it brings and wanted to get it down finally.”

GHOST TOWN
Says Janey, “This is my personal favourite on the new EP.  I wrote the lyrics to this song right at the start of lockdown. I called Greg and said I’ve just walked back from my village shop and it’s like a ghost town – and well, there you go!”

HAVE MY DAY
Says Janey, “The music was written by our lead guitarist Neil Hackett. When I heard it, I thought it was an energetic piece, quite empowering to listen to. I wanted to write about a journey through life, about not giving up. staying focused with your eye on the prize. Not giving up until you have your day. It’s something I’m sure a lot of musicians can relate to.”

FEMME FATALE
Says Janey, “The inspiration was an awesome lady I know, I wanted to sing about a woman, rock needs more women. I guess it’s about someone that learnt the hard way but never quit.”
