Single I Jacques Mees & Dylan Michels – I Should Have Been Home With You

My name is Dylan Michels, and together with my dad Jacques Mees we’ve recorded a song that we would love for you to check out!

It’s a cover of “Should have Been Home” by Blaze Foley, that completely transforms the original into a mix of Rock, Dark Country and Blues.
After almost 50 years on international stages and 50 releases (albums, e.p.’s and singles) my dad Jacques thought it was high time to do something completely different.
And so him (based in The Netherlands, Europe) and me (living in California, U.S.) came up with the idea to record “Should have Been Home”, written by Texas legend Blaze Foley, together as a ‘Father & Son duo’.
I myself am not as seasoned a musician as my dad with access to a studio; so, being a hard working family man, sent in my vocal tracks recorded from inside of my car to our friends at Triplemoonstudios.nl, and we got a great band of Dutch musicians together who helped us in making this song into our own vision.
