De legendarische John Prine zei ooit tegen hem dat het tijd was om eigen liedjes te gaan schrijven. Dat advies nam Tim Easton uit Lewistown, New York ter harte.
Hij debuteerde spectaculair in 1998 met Special 20 en meer dan tien albums later is er nu ‘Find Your Way’. En dat is wederom een echte Tim Easton-plaat, balancerend op de grens van folk, blues en rock ‘n’ roll. Tien nummers die in tekst allemaal kleine romans zijn. Soms zwaar zoals Little Brother, over hoe een familie omgaat met verslaving. Soms licht zoals in afsluiter By The End Of The Night, een ontroerend rechttoe rechtaan liefdesliedje. En dat is het bijzondere aan Easton; die strijd tussen hoop en wanhoop. Op ‘Find Your Way’ is hij in elk opzicht in topvorm. Wereldplaat!
